Rose

Rosella Edna, the baby of the family, was born September 11, 1900.

Rose went to college like her sister, Lily, and she became a kindergarten teacher. Her first teacher’s position was at Tigerton, Wisconsin, about twelve miles from Marion.  There was a little boy in her first kindergarten class at Tigerton by the name of Leroy Kumbier.  Little did Rose realize at that time that this little boy would someday be her "nephew-in-law".  Leroy grew up to marry Carl's daughter, Ruth.  Rose married Orville Newcomb (photos above) late in life, in January of 1957, before she retired from teaching school.  Belva died the next month in February of 1957.  Her husband died in November of 1958 and her mother died less than a year later in October of 1959
