Childhood Fun
RIGHT: Henry John Glassnapp, son of Henry August, age about one and a half years. No, he’s not a girl. It was the custom then to dress little boys in lace trimmed gowns and to wear long curls.
BOTTOM LEFT: Albert Edward Glassnapp on his Grandma Glassnapp’s farm with a young heifer. He always spent at least part of his summers on the farm. Note his “knickers” (knickerbockers or plus fours, loose pants gathered at the knees). They were popular for years as active wear for boys.
BOTTOM RIGHT: Albert on the donkey of some traveling photographer. Traveling photographers were popular then.
